I am a native Mandarin speaker. I was born and raised in Xining, China and move to the U.S when I was 11 years old. Since then I have spent every summer in China and continued to learn Chinese while I'm in the States. I am fluent in both English and Mandarin speaking, reading, and writing. I learned English as a second language and now consider myself an native speaker, I understand what it's like to learn a different language and how to learn it like an native speaker rather than just textbook smart.
