I earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees in cognitive science from the University of Colorado. I began tutoring while in college where I tutored other college students in a wide variety of courses. I currently tutor many different subjects, including algebra 1 & 2, philosophy, calculus 1 -3, public speaking, differential equations, statistics, geometry, elementary math, middle school math, statistics, discrete math, Python, trigonometry, Java, physics, social sciences, science, reading, writing, social sciences, English, technology and computer science, psychology, C++, competition math, multivariable calculus, algebra 3/4, finite mathematics, and design technology. I also teach related courses for AP and IB students and I enjoy working with students who are preparing for a standardized exam such as the GRE. My teaching style and educational philosophy revolves around making individual concepts as engaging and applicable to real life as possible. I find that even the most intimidating of topics can become accessible for students if it is presented in a context that makes it seem less alien and more familiar to them. Teaching a student how to see a scientific or mathematical concept in their daily life always makes it more interesting for them which tends to accelerate the learning process and improve academic results.
