Education

I received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Oklahoma in May 2015 with a GPA of 3.84. I am currently a first-year Master of Science in Civil Engineering Candidate at the University of Colorado Boulder. I am also pursuing an Engineering for Developing Communities Certificate in addition to the masters program. I started in August 2015 and expect to graduate in 2017.

Experience

I was an Engineering Tutor for the Dean's Leadership Council Tutoring Program at the University of Oklahoma from Sep 2014 through May 2015. I tutored and mentored college students in fundamental engineering courses including Algebra, Calculus and Physics. I was a Literacy Tutor for the Community After School Program (CASP) in Norman, Oklahoma from Sep 2012 through Dec 2012. I tutored elementary students individually ranging from kindergarten to 5th grade at Jackson Elementary. I improved student skills for reading, comprehension, writing, and grammar through personalized tutoring sessions. I also was an informal ACT tutor for several students during summer breaks in 2011 and 2012. I received an ACT math score of 36 with an overall ACT test score of 32. In high school I was in all the advanced math courses and received straight A's. I tested a 4 out of 5 for the AP Calculus BC test and received college credits for Calculus I & II. In college I received A's for both Calculus III & IV. Because of my engineering degree, I am proficient in math and other technical skills. I enjoy teaching others in basic math skills. I graduated with a 3.84 GPA at the top of my class.

Hobbies

I enjoy traveling, cooking, practicing yoga, and volunteering. I have a passion for helping the poor in developing countries around the world and aspire to use my engineering skills to provide safe water and sanitation to those regions in the future. I am absolutely, 100 percent in love with dogs (and pretty much all other animals). I enjoy working with kids and have plenty of experience. I am an older sister to my 9-year-old brother who, like most kids, just needs someone to encourage and motivate him with schoolwork. I enjoy working with shyer, reserved kids who need help opening up out of their shells. However, I am easily adaptable to the personality of my tutee.
