Experience
I started tutoring professionally last year for the University of Colorado Herbst Academic Program tutoring NCAA student athletes in physics and applied math. In addition to tutoring one on one, the athletic department also trusted me with tutoring several small groups. I love breaking down the conceptual ideas behind problems through diagrams, dialogue, and analogies to build a physical intuition in those I tutor. I believe this approach chips away at the frustration students have with just having to "trust the equations" - in fact most students like my method and ask for supplementary sessions. Hobbies
As a result of growing up in the Colorado Rockies, naturally I prefer to spend my time hiking, backpacking, and skiing the local mountains. If fact, I'm about halfway through my goal of climbing all 56 of Colorado's 14,000 foot peaks. My professional goal is to join the Navy as a commissioned Naval Officer upon graduating college. To meet this goal, I am a midshipman in the University of Colorado Naval ROTC unit.
