I have a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, a masters degree in English from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and am working on a Ph.D. in Victorian Literature at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Experience

I have taught American Literature, Jewish Literature, and Modern and Contemporary Literature at CU, Boulder for 11 years. I have also tutored middle and high school students for almost 10 years in the Boulder area. I am comfortable with students of all ages, and I love helping my students learn. My proudest moments are watching that light go on in a student's eyes as they finally understand something they have been struggling with. It's a beautiful thing!

Hobbies

I love reading and writing, of course, but when I'm not working, I'm hanging out with my two year-old daughter, running, or curling up with a good movie. I'm flexible in my teaching methods, and I try to engage my students' interests while keeping them focused on their work. My goal is to teach students to be self-sufficient, so we will work on study skills, writing skills, and critical reading skills so that they can do the work on their own and feel competent.
