Education

I will be a junior this year at Nederland Middle/Senior High School near Boulder, CO. My GPA last year was 4.66 weighted and 4.0 unweighted.

Experience

I love learning!! By extension, I love to help people learn and watch them learn. At my school, I have tutored kids in math and Spanish, as well as ESL. I took both the ACT and the SAT as a sophomore and scored a 33/36 and a 2030/2400 respectively. Other tests that I have taken include the PSAT/NMSQT (99th percentile for reading and writing, 90th percentile for math among sophomores. percentile compared with college bound juniors was 95), the PLAN (composite score of 30) and the SAT subject tests for physics (740) and US history (620). As far as classes, I have also taken AP Physics, AP US History, and up to Spanish 4. I am two years ahead in math, so this year as a junior I will be taking AP Calc AB. Other classes that I will be taking this year include AP World History, AP Biology, Adv. Anatomy, AP Chemistry, and AP Literature. I have also had experience as a student assistant in a math classroom for two years, helping out with 8th graders. I am willing to provide virtual tutoring over skype or join.me as well, for $8.00/hr instead of $10.00. I live approximately 40 minutes from downtown Boulder and 20 minutes from Nederland, and am willing to drive either of these places if I am able to use one of my parent's cars/weather permitting.

Hobbies

I am a busy person, because I have trouble when I have nothing to do. In addition to my rigorous course load, I do a lot of extra curriculars, including volleyball, alpine ski racing, soccer, musical technical crew, and student government. In my free time, I love to volunteer, play piano, paint (acrylic on canvas, mostly), and tinker around with computers. I also love to travel around the world, and feel lucky to be able to do so. I have been to southern Europe, Nicaragua, Mexico, Canada, Bermuda, Alaska, Australia, New Zealand, and most of the continental US. I love to learn about different cultures and how other people around the world live.
